Organize Tasks

Organize Tasks

The Organize Window allows you to organize your tasks into categories. Categories are represented as folders and tasks are represented as little green checkboxes. To view the tasks in a category, just click on the appropriate folder. To add or move tasks into a category, just drag the task across.

This window can be really helpful when you want to group your tasks into categories, or move tasks between categories. If you wanted to follow the Getting Things Done approach to time management, you could group your tasks into:

- Next actions
- Projects
- Waiting for
- Someday/Maybe

As you work through your tasks, you can use the organize feature to move tasks between categories. For example from "Someday/Maybe" to "Projects".

1Categories

Categories
Categories are represented as folders. Click on a folder to see the tasks associated with the category.

You can delete a category by selecting the "Delete" key on your keyboard. NOTE: This will delete the category and any tasks in that category. You will not be able to undo this action.

2Create Category

Create Category
The Create Category button can be used to create a new category. The category will be created as a subfolder of the folder selected.

Using the example above, if you wanted to create a new category under Conference, you would select conference, click the "Create Category" button, and rename the folder that is created.

3Tasks

Tasks
Tasks are represented as a list of items with a green checkbox icon. To move a task into a new category, simply drag and drop! Just like moving a file into folder.

4Save Changes / Close

Save Changes / Close
The OK button saves any changes and exits the form.

5Organize Type

Organize Type
The organize page can be used to organize both tasks and notes. Use this drop down box to specify which category you would like to organize.
