The Settings Window can be used to configure JetTask to work the way you want. To view the Settings Window, simply right click on the Task List area in the Main Window and select "Settings". Alternatively, right click on the JetTask checkbox icon in the Notification Area and select "Settings".

1Settings Tabs

Settings Tabs
JetTask Settings can be divided into two categories:

1) General Settings - Settings related to the JetTask application.
2) Search Settings - Settings related to the Search Bar.

2Appearance Settings

Appearance Settings
The Appearance Settings section can be used to configure the appearance of JetTask. It contains three settings:

1) Color Code Tasks - If unchecked High and Low priority tasks will not be color coded. The "In Progress" task will still be colored blue.

2) Show as Top Window - If unchecked, it will be possible for windows to be placed "on top" of JetTask.

3) Hide notes tab - If you find that you never use the notes tab in JetTask, it can be removed from the interface. After checking this setting, you will need to restart JetTask.

3Timer Settings

Timer Settings
The timer settings section is used to set the JetTask timer to work the way you want. It contains three settings:

1) Show Timer - If unchecked, the timer will not be displayed when a task in marked as "In Progress".

2) Show Clock - If unchecked, the clock will not be displayed when JetTask is in Clock Mode. The date will be displayed instead.

3) Show 24 Hour Clock - If unchecked, a 12 hour clock will be displayed when JetTask is in Clock Mode.

4Tasks Settings

Tasks Settings
There are two important decisions you can make here:

1) Should JetTask hide recurring tasks? For example if you have a task "buy a birthday present", you may only want to see this task two weeks before it is due - not all year.

You can use this drop down list to select when a recurring task should be displayed relative to it's due date.

2) What should happen when the checkbox next to a task is clicked? You have three options:

Mark Complete - The task should be marked as complete and removed from the task list.
Cross Out - The task should be crossed out. Clicking the checkbox again will un-cross out the task.
Cross Out, then Complete - The task should be crossed out. Clicking the checkbox again will complete the task and remove it from the task list. The task can be un-crossed out by right clicking on the task and selecting "Cross Out". This will reset the checkbox.

5Reporting Settings

Reporting Settings
As the text says:

"JetTask can run a program in the background which checks every 5 minutes to see what program you are using. This information can then be used for reporting purposes."

The advantage of tracking programs is that you get the full benefit of the reporting features. In particular reports concerning hours spent on the computer and program usage.

However, some people find this kind of program monitoring intrusive. Therefore, we have left it up to you whether you want to track programs or not

This feature is off by default.

6Sound

Sound
The "Sound" button opens up the Sound Settings window. This window allows you to configure a sound effect for calendar events.

7Use Defaults

Use Defaults
The use defaults button is used to reset all settings to their default values.

8Command Buttons

Command Buttons
The Settings Window contains 2 buttons:

1) Save - used to save the modified settings.
2) Cancel - used to close the form without saving changes.
