Main Window

This is the main window in JetTask. Here you can view all of your current tasks, color coded according to priority or current progress. From this page we can access all of JetTask's features.

Tip: With JetTask, you never need to worry about saving your task or schedule. JetTask automatically saves your tasks for you!

1Calendar Display

Calendar Display
This shows today's date. When you need to see your Calendar, just click on the Calendar image.

2Navigation

Navigation
JetTask uses a simple tab based navigation to let you manage your task list. The following tabs are visible by default:

Tasks - This page contains your task list.
Today - This page shows you your tasks and calendar items sorted by due date.
Notes - This page allows you to keep notes on any topic.
Find - This page allows you to find tasks or notes. Including tasks which have been completed.

3Task List

Task List
This is the heart of JetTask. It shows all of your current tasks sorted according to priority or due date.

Tip: Try right clicking on the task list. You will see lots of options which are helpful for managing your tasks.

4Subtask Indicator

Subtask Indicator
This folder icon indicates that this task contains subtasks. Double-clicking on this task will bring up another task list within the main JetTask window. You can navigate back and forth between task lists by clicking on the task header bars.

5Note Indicator

Note Indicator
This icon indicates that the task has notes associated with it. Double clicking on this task will take you straight to the notes section of the View Details window. Alternatively, you can right-click on the task and select "View Details". Note that if the note icon is next to a folder icon, you will need to right click on the folder and select "View Details" in order to view the notes. Double clicking on a folder is the action for opening the folder.

6Add Task Box

Add Task Box
This box can be used to add a new task. Enter details of your new task and press return. For example, say I want to add two new tasks. First, I need to pickup some milk and second I need to call Richard. I would type:

Pickup some milk<return>
Call Richard<return>

It is that easy. Give it a try!

Tip: JetTask runs automatically on your computer at startup so you never need to worry about opening or closing the program. You'll be alerted to any schedule or calendar events automatically. Rest easy.

7Search Bar

Search Bar
The JetTask Search Bar can be used to search JetTask or the Web. Simply select the appropriate search engine, type your search into the search box and press return. JetTask will open a browser window if necessary.

8Command Bar

Command Bar
The command bar can be used to provide access to all of the advanced features in JetTask. To find out more, go to the Command Bar section.

9Window Tack

Window Tack
This tack is responsible for making sure JetTask is visible. You can hide JetTask to the notification area at the bottom of your screen by clicking on this tack. To bring JetTask back into focus, simply click the green checkbox icon in the notification area.

10Column Headings

Column Headings
In order to conserve space used by the interface, some column headings are intentionally missing from the task list. However, you can always find out which column is which by hovering over the appropriate column until you see a tool tip. The task list columns in order are:

1 - Notes indicator. If this column contains an icon of a yellow note with a red pin, then the task has notes.

2 - Action Box. This column contains either a checkbox or a folder. A folder if the item is a category. A checkbox if the item is a task. Ticking the checkbox with perform a configurable action which is set in the settings page. The checkbox can either complete the task and remove it from your list, or cross the task out, or first cross the task out - then mark the task as complete.

3 - Description. This is the description for the task or category.

4 - Priority Indicator. This column contains an icon which indicates the priority of the task. For a description of the different priority settings available, please see the "Priority Indicator" topic below.

5 - Due Date. The date the task is due. Note, if this column is blank, it means that the task does not yet have a due date set.

Also note that you can sort your tasks using the Title Bar. Just click on the column you want to sort by and an arrow will appear indicating the sort direction. In the above example, the description column is being sorted in ascending order. Note that folders will always be sorted above tasks.

11Priority Indicator

Priority Indicator
Priority Indicator. This column contains an icon which indicates the priority of the task.

Blue = Low Priority.
Green = Medium Priority.
Yellow = High Priority.
Red = Critical Priority.

Note the priority for a task can also be set by right clicking on the task in the task list and selecting "Set Priority".
