Health and Productivity

Lately I have become a lot more aware of how much of an impact our health has on our productivity. You can use what productivity systems you like, but unless your body is in good condition you will not be as productive as you could be. Here are some ideas about how you can improve your health, and thereby your productivity as well.  None of this is rocket science, but it helps to be reminded of these things some times.  But to be productive, you need to:

Ensure Good Nutrition

Always ensure that you are eating properly - not too much, not too little and plenty of the right foods. Nutrition is the basis of all good health programs and can make a great difference in keeping you healthy and productive

Exercise Regularly

Today's generation generally seems to have become a generation of couch potatoes - we sit at a desk all day, and play computer games, read or watch TV at night, never really get moving. In order to be healthy it is important to factor exercise into our daily routine. Exercise is important for burning fat, building a healthy heart and improving metabolism and circulation, as well as many other benefits. If you are not exercising regularly then chances are that you are not as healthy and productive as you could be.

Get Plenty of Rest and Sleep

Studies have shown that too little sleep could increase your chances of getting diabetes. Apart from that, too little sleep just keeps you feeling constantly exhausted and unable to keep up with the pace of life. Ensure that you get at least six to eight hours of sleep every night to remain healthy and productive.

Most of us really know what a healthy lifestyle should consist of, even if we are not really following these principles. We know that it is important to get fresh air - but are we going outside enough? We know we should try to eat well, but it just takes a bit more effort.

Your health is a vital element to productivity. If you are not healthy then you cannot be as productive as you should be. In order to be healthy you should ensure that you are following good nutrition principles, exercising regularly, getting plenty of sleep and following good health habits.
